The night light feature after dark automatically shifts the colours of your display to the warmer end of the colour spectrum, to match your indoor lighting. It makes you sleep better, or you could just use it just because it makes your computer look better.
Lower color temperature values are “warmer” (suitable for the night) and higher values are “cooler” (suitable for day). In normal (day) mode, the screen color temperature is 6600K.
